Welcome to Spiritual Enlightenment

At some point during my adult years, I looked back on my life and realized I was a fraud. My physical world was drastically out of alignment with my spiritual one. It was similar to cooking an elaborate meal while starving, but not being able to consume it. I grew up in a very strict Christian setting dominated by Southern Baptist doctrines. Church every Sunday, choir, usher board, trustee board, Sunday school, morning service, evening service... the environment was filled with bible-toting scripture-quoting tongue-speaking hallelujah shouting folks! Fortunately, I was exposed to many people of integrity and positive influences that instilled in me priceless values. My parents emphasized education until it was drilled into my psyche. On the flip side, I was fed a lot of half-truths, partial truths, and altered truths by so-called well-meaning people. Ignorance, closed-mindedness, pride, & arrogance are likely some of the causative factors. Therefore, I impersonated what a Christian should look and act like based on deficient information. There was no valid connection between the worldly me and my higher self. I impersonated what a Christian should look and act like, but I had no real relationship with my Creator. I prayed to a God I was told to pray to quoting the prayers I was taught to quote. Like a soldier taking orders from his commanding officer: You do as you are told and trained to do whether you are feeling it or not!

Out of Nowhere

I am not sure what event triggered my self-realization, yet it was life-transforming. The process is nowhere near complete rendering an ongoing journey. A crucial part of my being that was sleep woke up and jolted me to the core. Sadly, many people live their whole lives and depart without recognizing that crucial element. My recognition of that element catapulted my mind to a higher wave length. There was a burst of clarity illuminating my understanding of almost everything.

One major area of enlightenment is human sensuality--the mother of physical intimacy. The religious forums that dominate the media treat it like it is nonexistent (unless a scandal hits the news) or something to shun from discussion. In contrast, sensuality should be celebrated and promoted within a God-ordained context. Consequently, inner eyes open, new ideas blossom, paradigms shift, and higher consciousness ensues.

Spiritual enlightenment brings about intelligence and inner peace. It is not about being a Biblical scholar or expert on religious topics because I am neither--far from it! I started this blog not just to disperse information, but to gain knowledge and expand my horizons. It is truly about making a connection with God who leads us to connecting with deeper aspects of ourselves. Those deeper aspects make up the true self...not our careers, bank accounts, personal possessions, or physical bodies.

Our Eclectic Universe

The physical universe is evidence that the Creator loves diversity. A child of the universe, planet Earth, clearly follows suit with its potpourri of life forms. Within the same life form is remarkable variation ( different species of fish, plants, human racial groups, etc). Does it not stand to reason diversity is expressed on every level of existence/consciousness? It does not matter if you are Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, etc. because you are a different expression of the same universe. Different cloths of fabric are required to construct the quilt. I discovered that all religions contribute knowledge and perspectives that are necessary to complete life's masterpiece. It seems as if everyone has a piece to the puzzle of the universe that may never be fully explained on this realm.

The paths we choose to take to self-realization are possible through the gift from God called free will. I have discovered there are far more similarities than differences between the major philosophies that lend more support of each other than contradiction. Besides, I dare to count the numerous contradictions that exist just within the Christian faith. Historical and present events demonstrate other religions are plagued with the same multiple interpretations/variations. At one time, the news was flooded with horror stories of conflicts between the Sunni and Shiite Muslims...there is only one Quran is there not??? No one, no science, no religion has escaped the divisiveness of multiple perspectives. Conflicting interpretations give birth to confusion, disbelief, and disillusionment.

One will be greatly distracted if not focused on their own inner voice. It's the God inside of you and me. Ultimately, that is the key: Hearing your own inner voice because once that occurs everything else falls into place.

The Universal Magician

Have you ever been fascinated by a magic show exhibiting the skills of a magician? Most of us are dazzled by magic because it appears to defy the laws of nature. In actuality, the magician manipulates the natural laws of science to bring about illusion and trickery. The real magic lies in the power of the human mind to harness the supernatural in order to guide the natural.....create reality. It is about tapping into the real self to command the laws of nature and shape the world around us. We all are empowered with magic to use in our everyday lives. The higher we raise our consciousness, the more magical we become.
NO TRICKS JUST TREATS
Have you tapped into your magical powers lately?

Science & Spirituality: Friends or Foes?

Science & Spirituality have not traditionally been friends. They live on opposite sides of the fence and travel down roads going in opposite directions. Both religion and spirituality have always offered explanations for things science could not explain. Traditionally, science has held the position that everything in existence must fit into a scheme of rules and laws that govern a natural, materialistic world.

Every now and then, science stumbles upon a finding that is “concrete” supporting a religious belief, for example, the Shroud of Turin and the professed finding of Noah’s Ark.  Advanced equipment and climatic changes are now revealing ruins of ancient cities that once were considered myths. All those things are physical findings. Discovering anything concrete for the spirit world is a lot trickier. If it cannot be interpreted by the basic 5 physical senses, it is not considered valid. When science is unable to explain anything, it is labeled a mystery, phenomenon, and even nonexistent.

Quantum physics comes along and presents observable empirical data that does not neatly fit into the rigid categories of the science world. It suggests that maybe those crazy spiritual gurus are not that crazy after all! It is like the rebellious child that goes against tradition and paves its own way. Wikipedia The Free Encyclopedia states, "Quantum mechanics is the science of the very small: the body of scientific principles that explains the behavior of matter and its interaction with energy on the scale of atoms and subatomic particles." Studying the very small to explain the very big is a fascinating paradox! Extensive research conducted over the last few decades has yielded overwhelming evidence for life after death, nonphysical worlds/dimensions, nonphysical beings, and so on. One of the landmarks of quantum physics is the discovery that the physical world around us is energy; like a hologram made of light and sound. It puts a whole new spin on what the scientific-minded call concrete now doesn’t it?

Do you feel that quantum physics can harmoniously merge the two worlds of spirituality and science together? Explain why or why not. As quantum physics makes more and more discoveries, in what ways will the scientific community need to adjust and restructure?

The Year of Unification

As we embark on a new year of the revolving earth cycle, let us be inspired to tackle ongoing problems with a fresh approach. Of course, we do not have to wait for a 365 day cycle to do that. Every moment of our lives is an opportunity for a fresh start.

Looking externally for solutions will not solve anything, just provide a superficial and temporary fix. The problems we face in this world, like every other situation, originate with the spirit. You cannot fix a spiritual problem with a physical tool. Therefore, we must look inward where the real solutions are waiting.

The vast majority of the issues we are fighting emerge from human polarization based on race/color, nationality, religion, and so on. As people become more spiritually awake, more aware of the oneness, the barriers that polarize us from one another will slowly dissolve. Unity is a gift of spiritual awareness and it will propel the human race forward.

The Good Karma Tonic

There are three main ingredients for the Good Karma Tonic

Compassion

Forgiveness

Gratitude

Those three basic ingredients have the power to shower you with abundant good karma and transform your reality taking you to places you never imagined!!!
Tragically, a huge segment of the people on our planet exhibit the opposite character. The energy flow has been blocked by negative emotions separating them from their spiritual selves; they are selfish, indifferent, apathetic, bitter, unforgiving, ungrateful, unappreciative, arrogant...no wonder there is so much chaos in the world. Humanity has synthesized their own reality with a massive collective negativity!

Compassion is the ability to love other living things and be concerned for their well-being regardless of their character. It is the willingness to help someone or something without personal agenda for worldly gain or reward. Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of compassion. It does not matter whether you are a Christian or not. His teachings and life story, whether one believes are real or symbolic, set the standard for all human beings to strive for: Loving one another unconditionally...the highest consciousness.

Forgiveness is one of the hardest sentiments to express, but crucial for a happy life. Freeing yourself from the prison of bitterness, hatred, and pain not only feels better, but opens up the cosmic gateway to positive energy. When someone hurts you, there is the initial physical and mental pain. That is inevitable. The lack of forgiveness is the lingering pain you experience by reliving the event in your mind; you are focusing on the past. That pain is even more pronounced if there are residual physical injuries or damage to your quality of life. The pain leads you to a state of lower energy, feeling bitterness and hate toward the so-called perpetrator. In actuality, YOU are the perpetrator, the creator of your world. You end up putting out more negative energy to the universe which has no choice but to spew it back toward you.

Gratitude versus lack of gratitude for the goodness in our lives is like saying "F" you to the spirit world, "F" you to the universe, "F" you to the Creator. You are giving all the credit for your worldly achievements solely to the mind and body. Does that make any sense if your are a spiritual being? Your failure to appreciate the true source of your gifts is like a slap in the face to God...clearly not a good thing. If you have ever done something nice for someone and they expressed gratitude, did it make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside? Were you much more encouraged to do more good things for the individual and others? Karma responds the same way.

The positive side is it is never too late to halt negativity and even reverse the damage inflicted within the physical realm. We are all creators on the spirit plane that operates beyond the constraints of time; the concept of "too late" is nonexistent. The healing process must always begin with spirit. The spirit gives the soul the okay to open up the heart to higher love aka agape love. Once that happens, the compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude will happen spontaneously. Relapses happen when we lose touch with our higher selves. In other words, the compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude are already inside of us. In order to save ourselves and the world, we must find them.

Have you ever been in or presently in a situation struggling with compassion, forgiveness, and/or gratitude? If you were successful, what personal strategies did you implement? What do you think are the major hindrances of expressing those sentiments toward one another?
